Turning Our Classroom into a Gallery
What better way to celebrate the end of a great class than by turning a classroom into an exhibition space?
On the last day of class, the classroom of our C1.1 course became a small gallery — filled not only with artwork, but with memories, laughter and a wonderful sense of community.
One of the highlights was a very special project by Nick, one of the students in the class. Throughout the course, Nick used the coffee breaks to draw his classmates. One break, one student, one charcoal portrait. Little by little, he worked his way through the entire class, creating a portrait of every single student.
The result was an impressive collection of charcoal portraits — and a wonderful reflection of Nick’s talent, patience and generosity. As a small thank-you for all the time and effort Nick had put into the portraits, each student wrote down one of their own quotes on a piece of paper and gave it to Nick as a present.
On the last day, we opened the classroom doors and invited students and teachers from other classes to visit our exhibition. And there was one final gift: everyone was allowed to take their portrait home.
All in all, it was a great end to a great class.
Here are some impressions from the day we turned our classroom into an exhibition space — and created a few memories to take with us.
